Our doors are built with 100% solid merbau wood, kiln dried MC 6-8%. Merbau is an exotic tropical hardwood of superior strength and hardness to both teak and mahogany and resistant to insect damage. Standard door is thickness 2". Standard Jamb size is 2" width x 6 9/16" depth. However any custom measurements can be used. Construction is mortice and tenon, and the doors are specially engineered so as to prevent any warping or bending due to extremes of weather.                             

stain

Minwax stain is used. Minwax is an oil-based wood stain that provides long-lasting wood tone color and is widely available worldwide in good hardware stores. It penetrates deep into the pores to seal and protect the wood. The finish is a urethane sealer or we can use a spar varnish if requested. Spar varnish is ideal to protect wood finishes in extreme climatic conditions.

hardware

We use heavy duty ball bearing hinges. Available in brushed stainless steel and solid brass.

Sliding flush bolts are included top and bottom for the inactive door of a double door entry.

Handles and locks are not included with wood doors, but we can pre-drill bore holes on request at no extra charge.

Doors are fully sealed around the frame with solid rubber stripping. Solid wood thresholds are optional.
