All of our doors can be fitted with clear tempered glass, 1/4" - 3/4" thickness if required. This glass will not break during the shipping process. Our price includes installation, and to get a quote for tempered glass for your door, please email us at info@doorsdirect2you.com.

Tempered glass is specially heated until just below melting point and then rapidly cooled in a controlled environment. This process makes the glass several times stronger than regular glass and able to withstand greater forces than normal on its surface. It is also known as safety glass.

For the iron doors (see picture to the left) the glass is fitted into separate hinged frames behind the wrought iron panels on the exterior, which open up for cleaning or to allow ventilation.

On the wood and iron doors, the glass is installed directly into the wood opening of the doors and is permanent - like a fixed window. The wrought iron panels on the exterior of the doors open outwards to allow for cleaning of the glass.

We do also offer frosted tempered glass (see picture below) as an option, which is obscure enough to prevent see-through but lets in plenty of light. Please email us if you need a price quote.
